AR conducts fogging operation, extend aids

Imphal, July 19 2025: With the arrival of the monsoon season and the increased threat of waterlogging, Assam Rifles has proactively initiated an extensive fogging operation in Moreh, Tengnoupal district.

According to PRO, IGAR (South), the vital public health campaign is part of the force's ongoing civic action programmes aimed at preventing the outbreak of vector-borne diseases such as malaria, dengue, and typhoid.

The operation was conducted in close collaboration with local community leaders and targeted key residential areas, public spaces, waterlogged sites, and other vulnerable zones.

Special attention was given to drainage lines, stagnant water bodies, and densely inhabited pockets to disrupt mosquito breeding during the crucial monsoon period.

On the other hand, Assam Rifles also distributed nutritional relief materials at Mother Teresa Home, Mantripukhri in Imphal East district.

The initiative sought to deliver essential nourishment and support to residents adversely affected by the recent floods, the PRO informed, adding that a variety of wholesome and nutritious food packets were distributed, ensuring that those at the home received substantial dietary support during this challenging period.

The relief efforts benefitted approximately 50 residents, providing much-needed comfort and sustenance in the aftermath of the disaster.
