UNC settles Waithou land dispute row

A land dispute simmering since 2022 between Waithou Chiru and Saman Tangkhul villages has been amicably resolved through the timely intervention of the United Naga Council (UNC).
An accord formalising the land demarcation and boundary settlement between the two neighbouring villages was formally signed on July 25.The testimonial accord signed between the parties in dispute including UNC-endorsed Chiru Union Seerpui and Tangkhul Naga Aze Longphang along with representatives of the two villages, clearly demarcated the boundary of the two neighbouring villages.
Meanwhile, Waithou Chiru village authority, Island block, Kangpokpi district expressed heartfelt gratitude to the UNC for monitoring land demarcation and boundary settlement between the two villages.
The village authority also prayed that the customary and legal binding established through dialogue and understanding remain a mutual cornerstone for both Saman Tangkhul and Waithou Chiru villages.
