Awareness lecture on drug abuse, illicit trafficking held

Imphal, January 13 2025: Assam Rifles organised an awareness lecture at Assam Rifles Public School, Mantripukhri Garrison on Monday, aimed at educating students about the dangers of drug abuse and illicit trafficking.

According to a statement issued by PRO IGAR (S), the session, attended by 35 students, focused on the harmful effects of substance abuse, its impact on health and society, and the importance of staying away from illegal substances.

The lecture also addressed the rising concern of illicit trafficking in the region and emphasised the critical role that youth play in combating these issues.

The session concluded with an interactive Q&A, where students had the opportunity to engage on the topic and clarify their doubts.

This event is part of Assam Rifles' ongoing efforts to support the community and create a safer, more informed environment for all, the statement added.
