Wild deer rescued from Kakching

Kakching, July 19 2025: A Barking deer, suspected to have come down from Kakching Mamang Ching and strayed into the residence of one Naorem Mo -hen and Naorem Dhiren in Kakching Makha Lou Sekmai Ningthou Pareng on Saturday, was rescued and handed over to the forest department.

On Saturday morning, members of Joint Non-Government Voluntary Organisation (JNGVO) Kakching were informed of the strayed deer, following which RFO Kakching in Kakching Lamkhai was informed.

Immediately, RFO Kakching Huidrom Sundar and his team went to the spot along with DFO Chandel Dr Munal Meitei.

The deer was found injured in various places on its body due to dog bites and as such, was taken to District Veterinary Hospital Kakching where veterinary officer Dr Shougaijam Brojendro administered treatment.

After proper lifesaving treatment, the deer was transferred to Manipur Zoological Garden at Iroishemba by Kakching Forest Range staff along with honorary wildlife warden Thoubal Waikhom Ramchandra.
