Assam Rifles conducted a series of wreath-laying ceremonies on Thursday and Friday to honour the brave soldiers who made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty.
A wreath-laying ceremony was held on Thursday at Mantripukhri, to honour rifleman Om Bahadur Sunar of 4 Assam Rifles, who showed exemplary bravery on October 3, 1996, during a firefight near Molvailup, Manipur while on road opening duty.

It also informed that on Friday, Assam Rifles held two more ceremonies.
The initial event took place at Modi, Chandel district, honouring Naik Tara Singh, who courageously gave his life while neutralising terrorists at Lalpura, Kupwara, Jammu & Kashmir, on October 4, 1995 .
His courage in the face of enemy fire was remembered by all present.
At Mantripukhri, Assam Rifles honoured the memory of naik Samu Singh of 4 Assam Rifles, who bravely sacrificed his life on October 4, 1962, during a road opening party duty on the Tadubi-Imphal road in Manipur.
