At this year's India Design - the country's leading design show by Ogaan Media, held at the Jio World Garden, Mumbai - renowned designer and artist Aku Zeliang stepped in as the head curator for Young Collectors Weekend Global, in collaboration with Cultivate Art Gallery.
His special exhibition, titled "Tradition in Motion," weaved a thoughtful conversation between two worlds: one rooted in timeless customs, the other alive with the energy of contemporary design.
Under Zeliang's curatorial eye, the exhibition featured India's most exciting new voices in collectible design - including Helena Bajaj Larsen, Muskan Jain, Namit Khanna, Pepe Heykoop x Tiny Miracles, and Ravi Vazirani.

Together, they presented a new vision of design as a living space of cultural exchange.
Ceramics, textiles, and furniture became vessels of memory and innovation - reinterpreting the spirit of Atithi Devo Bhava in fresh, meaningful ways.
The "Tradition in Motion" invited visitors to experience collectible design as more than an object - a story in flux, where heritage and modernity meet in motion.
Notably, on September 26, the "Nilaya Anthology" by Asian Paints presented "A Gathering of Light" - a special showcase of limitededition candle stands designed by 23 of India's leading designers at the brand's Mumbai centre.
Among the featured talents was acclaimed designer and artist Aku Zeliang, who brought his unique sensibility to the collection with a staking candlestand crafted from bamboo and ceramic.
Rooted in nature and refined in detail, Zeliang's piece "reflects his deep connection to material culture and sustainable design" .
