Jiribam/Thoubal, November 28 2021: District police and Excise departments of Jiribam and Thoubal disposed of a huge amount of liquor worth about Rs 13 lakh, today.

The liquor were seized from various locations in the two districts.

Liquor worth Rs 11,63,952 (Eleven lakh sixty three thousand nine hundred fifty two only) which were seized by Jiribam police during drives conducted in November were handed over to Excise department Jiribam.

The seized liquor included Royal Stag (12 bottles), Mc Dowell's No 1 (48 bottles), OC Blue 750 ml (132 bottles), OC Blue 375 ml (48 bottles), OC Blue 180 ml (144 bottles), Old Monk 750 ml (144 bottles), Old Monk 375 ml (240 bottles) and Tuborg Beer (6288 bottles).

Meanwhile, Thoubal police disposed of country made liquor and Indian Made Foreign Liquor worth approximately Rs 1,35,000/- (one lakh thirty five thousand) today in front of the Excise Department office inside Thoubal DC complex.

The seized liquor included Indian Made Foreign Liquor (9.285 litres), Beer (8 litres) and country made liquor (1269 litres).

Speaking to media, P Ranjit, nodal officer of Excise Department Thoubal said the seized liquor were destroyed as per instructions from Excise Commissioner and added that more stringent drives will be conducted in the coming days.
