Imphal, October 28 2024: Police have arrested EK Higher Secondary School secretary Pangeijam Saratchandra today.

P Saratchandra was summoned to Heingang police station this morning, sources said.

A few days back, a complaint was lodged at Heingang police station in connection with reprimanding/punishing a student of EK Higher Secondary School.

Acting on the complaint, P Saratchandra was summoned to Heingang police station today.

It is said that Saratchandra has been taken from Heingang police station to the office of SDPO Porompat.

According to family members, Saratchandra went to Heingang police station as there was no reason for police to detain him.

Notably, P Saratchandra is a PCC member of Heingang AC and he contested the last Assembly election in the same constituency on Congress ticket.

Meanwhile, MPCC president K Meghachandra has condemned the arrest of P Saratchandra by police without giving any proper reason.

"After discussing the matter with his family members and MPCC office bearers, we have decided to fight the arrest of Saratchandra legally for justice", Meghachandra said in a press release.
