Imphal, October 26 2024: Security guards of JNIMS have arrested one person who was involved in stealing several items including an air conditioner from the hospital today.

The arrested person has been identified as Md Amar (20) of Thoubal Moijing.

It is reported that Md Amar was arrested red hand-ed at around 3 am while he was stealing copper wires, parts of an air conditioner and a nozzle of a water tap from the Department of Radiodiagnosis, JNIMS.

Speaking to the media, Md Amar said that he is a heroin addict and he had stolen batteries, an air conditioner and other items from the hospital in the past.

Saying that he had been stealing items from JNIMS since a long time back, he added that he sold the stolen items at Hatta areas and bought heroin with the money.

Md Amar has been handed over to Porompat police station.
