RIMS inaugurates new Casualty Block

Imphal, August 26 2026:
The Regional Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS), Imphal, inaugurated its new Casualty Block at the Old OPD Block of RIMS Hospital today.
The new Casualty Block was inaugurated by Prof G Sunil Kumar Sharma, Director, RIMS, Imphal, in the presence of Prof N Sanjib Singh, Medical Superintendent, RIMS Hospital.
The facility is expected to strengthen timely, efficient and patient-centred emergency services while providing an improved environment for patients, attendants and healthcare personnel, RIMS said in a statement.
Speaking on the occasion, Prof Sunil Kumar highlighted the new Casualty Block as a major step towards decongesting the hospital and improving patient care.
He urged all staff to remain empathetic, compassionate and courteous, follow Government guidelines, and prioritize public service.
The inauguration programme also recognized and appreciated the services of frontline personnel associated with various patient-care and support areas of RIMS.
Awards were also presented to the best-performing nurses and attendants of the Casualty, sample collection staff, OPD reception and counter staff, and ABHA Desk staff.
The programme was attended by the Dean (Academics), Principal of College of Nursing and Dental College, HODs, Chief Account Officer, faculty members, nursing officials, staff and students of RIMS .
