Some individuals who met Chief Minister Y Khemchand at the CM's Secretariat today expressed dissatisfaction with his responses.
Speaking to the media, N Memsana, secretary of the Moirang Kampu Sajeb Makha Leikai Women's Welfare Association, stated that the Chief Minister's answers to the seven questions raised by the Coordinating Committee on Manipur Integrity (COCOMI) were unsatisfactory.
According to Memsana, the Chief Minister explained that the State Government has only been in power for two and a half months and would require more time to address the issues raised by COCOMI .
She also mentioned that the Chief Minister told them he would first consult with the Ministers and MLAs, as offering empty assurances without concrete actions would only anger the people.
Reiterating that the Chief Minister's responses were unsatisfactory, she added that, nevertheless, they have urged the Government to take visible steps to restore normalcy in Manipur and ensure that students can attend classes without further disruptions.
Th Devala, joint secretary of the Top Awang Leikai Meira Paibi, also stated that the Chief Minister did not provide answers to the questions raised by COCOMI.
She stated that the Chief Minister informed them that resolving the crisis in Manipur would take four to five months, and that additional Central security forces would be deployed after elections in other States are concluded.
She said that they also urged the Government to take immediate action to address the crisis.
