Horti Director flags fake recruitment notice

Imphal, June 24 2026: The Director, Horticulture and Soil Conservation Department, has cautioned the public and aspiring candidates against a forged recruitment notification that has surfaced on social media platforms.

The forged notification that mimics an original recruitment notice the department released on June 10 has caused confusion and misled the public.

A complaint has been filed with the cyber crime police for investigation and legal action against persons who released the fake notification, said the department's Director, K Debadutta Sharma today.

Speaking to media persons at his office at Sanjenthong, Debadutta said the department had released the original notice for recruitment of 282 posts on contractual basis.

The 282 vacancies include 67 posts of Assistant Agriculture Officer/Equivalent posts; 34 posts of Field Assistant/Equivalent; 56 posts of LDC/Office Assistant cum Computer Operator; 16 posts of Fieldman; 21 posts of Mali; 29 posts of Peon; 29 posts of Peon cum Chowkidar; 19 posts of Chowkidar; 11 posts of Lab Attendant.

The forms for the recruitment were issued from June 15.The submission of the forms began on June 16 and will continue till June 30 .

Debadutta said the department is taking up every effort to conduct the recruitment fairly and trans- parently.

He said the department is allowing candidates to submit their documents at their respective district headquarters, and the Employment Exchange Offices at districts are cooperating with the department to hold the recruitment successfully.

Meanwhile, the fake recruitment notice which has come to the notice of the department bears June 5 as date of issue of the notification, Debadutta said.

The fake notice bears the name of the department as "Department of Horticulture and Soil Conservation, Nambol Bishnupur" .

While it claims that the recruitment will be held to fill up 282 vacancies, it mentions several nonexistent posts including the posts of Assistant Administrative Officer, and erroneous or irrelevant educational qualifications, Debadutta said.

The department takes the release of the fake recruitment notice as an attempt to malign its image, cause confusion and mislead the public and candidates, he said.

Debadutta said the department has received multiple queries over the phone as a result of the fake recruitment notice.

Cautioning the public against such fake notifications on social media, Debadutta said people, especially candidates may visit the department or refer to the department's website and other reliable sources for genuine information and recruitment related notifications.

The department has filed a complaint with the cyber crime police to arrest and take strong legal action against the persons behind the fake notification, Debadutta said.
