'BJP may find no takers in next election'

MPCC working president and ex-MLA Md Fajur Rahim has stated that no one may be willing to contest the next State Assembly election on BJP tickets and claimed that the Congress party has been growing stronger across India whereas more and more people are becoming disillusioned with BJP and the BJP Governments.
An enrolment campaign of Manipur Pradesh Youth Congress was launched today at Congress Bhavan, BT Road.
Speaking to media persons, Indian Youth Congress general secretary and Manipur in-charge Sarifa Rahman said that the enrolment campaign would go on under the aegis of the Indian Youth Congress central election committee.
She said that any one from any part of Manipur in the age group of 18-35 years may enrol themselves as members of Manipur Youth Congress.
Interested candidates may file nomination papers for election of Manipur Youth Congress president, general secretary, district president, general secretary and other posts from October 23 to 27.For the post of Manipur Youth Congress president, the candidates should have served as office bearers of youth Congress in the past, Sarifa Rahman said.
Newly enrolled members may also vote in the voting which would be held at five levels in order to elect youth Congress office bearers, she said.
Youths may become members of Youth Congress by sending their applications through Indian Youth Congress (IYC) App which is available in both Google playstore and Apple playstore.
It only needs the individual's voter identity card, she said.
Aadhaar cards, driving licences or matric pass certificates may also be used in place of the voter identity cards, she added.
MPCC working presidents Md Fajur Rahim, Victor Keishing, Kh Devabrata, MPCC vice-president Bidyapati Senjam, MPCC general secretary P Saratchandra.
Youth Congress election authority's ZRO Prakash Kumar, ZRO Simanchala Khandai, Manipur Pradesh Youth Congress former president Mahananda Nungleppam and NSUI Manipur president Joyson Khoho were also present at the press meet.
Md Fajur Rahim claimed that the Congress party has been growing stronger across India whereas more and more people are becoming disillusioned with BJP and the BJP Governments.
In Manipur too, more and more people are putting their faith in the Congress party as evident in the landslide victories secured by the Congress candidates in both the Lok Sabha seats during the last Parliamentary election, Md Fajur Rahim said.
On account of the violent crisis besieging the State since May 3, 2023, election of new office bearers of Manipur Pradesh Youth Congress (MPYCC) was put on hold for a long time.
Now due process will be initiated as per an order issued by the AICC for holding elections to State, district and block level youth Congress committees, he said.
He also stressed on the immense role of youth toward strengthening the Congress party.
Rahim further exuded confidence that the Congress party will score a landslide victory in the next State Assembly election and will return to power.
He further asserted that there may not be any taker for BJP tickets in the next State Assembly election.
