Imphal, March 21 2025: Stating that roughly 100 IDPs from Kangchup have been removed from the IDP list, thereby depriving them of their allocated share of essential needs, the Relief Committee Manipur has urged the State Government to rectify the issue.

A press release issued by Thoidingjam Bon Khurai, chief coordinator, Relief Committee Manipur, shared that people who fled from Kangchup owing to the conflict found shelter at Phayeng High School Relief Camp in June, 2023.Due to overcrowding, thirty families, comprising roughly 100 individuals were moved to Panchayat Ghar, Kangchup and Salai Office.

Saying that the State Government removed these 30 families from the IDP list without any advance notice in February, 2025, the Committee has urged the relevant authority to ensure that the IDPs receive their share of essential needs until they are safely returned to their original homes in Kangchup.
