Imphal, April 19 2026:
The Coordinating Committee on Manipur Integrity (COCOMI) has announced a total boycott of all activities of BJP with effect from today.
Speaking to media persons at their Lamphelpat office today, COCOMI convenor YK Dhiren has asked all MLAs and Ministers of the State to stop acting like puppets of Delhi but work with a political principle to protect Manipur.
He called upon all the legislators to work with a conviction that protecting Manipur is far more important than clinging to their seats of power.
Officer bearers of BJP too should contribute toward resolving the crisis and protecting Manipur, he said.

Saying that the people of Manipur have been suffering untold misery on account of the three-year old proxy war, YK Dhiren asked the political leaders of the State to stop misleading the masses.
From day 1 of the sustained aggression, Indian security forces did nothing when Kuki militants wielding sophisticated weapons attacked unarmed civilians, killed people and burnt down houses.
In the meantime, both the Government of India and the Government of Manipur have been portraying the proxy war as an ethnic conflict between Meitei and Kuki, he said.
Demanding an immediate end to the proxy war, YK Dhiren said that since the beginning of the violence the COCOMI has been demanding a military crackdown and containment of the proxy army.
The COCOMI has been saying that there will be a solution and peace in the State only when the proxy army is contained, he said.
However, instead of paying any heed to these demands, there is a strong suspicion whether the Government of India is plotting to carry on the proxy war, the COCOMI convenor said.
It was just one day after Chief Minister Y Khemchand's return from his so-called trust building trip to Jiribam that two children were killed in a bomb attack at Tronglaobi and inflicted critical injuries to their mother.
Three individuals were also killed in indiscriminate firing by CRPF on the same day when people protested against the murder of the two babies.
Again, it was barely 24 hours after Khemchand's return from Ukhrul that two Tangkhul civilians were killed in an ambush on Imphal-Ukhrul road.
These deadly attacks made a mockery of all the peace-building efforts of the State Government and sent a clear message that Kuki narco-terrorists don't care even a little for these Government efforts, Dhiren remarked.
It implies that they (Kuki narco-terrorists) have little respect for the words of the Chief Minister, he added.
He said that the strong pressure must be exerted on the Government of India to stop the proxy war.
The State Government must exert strong pressure on the Government of India to give up its policy of suppressing and annihilating the Meitei community.
The State Government needs to work with a firm determination to contain the Kuki narco-terrorists if there must be a solution to the crisis.
In order to nab the perpetrators of the Tronglaobi terror attack, the Government must launch a military crackdown.
At the same, a judicial enquiry must be instituted into the killing of three civilian protesters by CRPF .
If the State Government cannot launch a military crackdown and institute a judicial enquiry as demanded by the people, both the Chief Minister and the Home Minister ought to step down on moral ground, the COCOMI convenor said.
He also condemned the excesses committed by security forces against civilians taking part in democratic agitation.
As a part of the ongoing movement, people will march to the residences of the Chief Minister and the Home Minister to know their positions on the protracted crisis, he said.
He added that Manipur may be wiped out forever if the people do not work collectively with a single mind and voice.
