25 water filling points installed

Imphal, March 19 2023: Altogether 25 water filling points have been installed at Khu-man Lampak complex near the Indoor Stadium till this evening to supply water to the public.

It is said that water from Chingkheiching Reserve would be released at the reservoir inside Khuman Lampak by laying a special pipe and the same will be made available to the public through the newly installed filling points.

Reportedly, installation of some filling points remains incomplete.

Private tanker trucks would be engaged in supplying water.

Speaking to The Sangai Express, an official of the PHED said that installation work of all the water filling points would be completed shortly.

He said that water will be provided to tanker trucks free of cost so that the public may buy the water at a cheap rate.

Releasing water from Chingkheiching into Imphal River 24x7 near Lamlong Thongkhong has already benefited some people, he claimed.

Intake pumps of Water Supply Schemes installed on the bank of Imphal River at Moirangkhom, Singjamei and Thumbu Thong would be activated to supply water to the public , he added.

Heavy machinery has also been pressed into action so that the water re- leased at Lamlong Thong-khong could reach the water supply schemes as soon as possible.
