Loukrakpam Indrani : CII's Women Exemplary Award

The Confederation of Indian Industry (CII)'s Women Exemplary Award in the Micro Enterprise category for this year was awarded to State's entrepreneur Loukrakpam Indrani, thus becoming the first woman to win the award from among the North East denizens.
The CII, Gurgaon has been instituting the award in the national level annually since 2005 in three different categories�Health, Education and Micro Enterprises.
Minister of State for Commerce and Industry, Jyotiraditya Scindia has presented the award today during a glittering award function today at Hotel Taj Place, New Delhi.
Babi Sathe of Maharashtra and Laxmi Dey of Kolkata were awarded in Health and Education categories respectively apart from L Indrani.
The CII award carries Rs 1.5 lakh, a medal and a citation.
L Indrani was recommended by a NEDFI funded NGO, Organisation for Rural Improvement, Nambol Phoijing.
Indrani hails from Tera Loukrakpam Leikai.
She has been involved in empowerment of women through her own organisationIndrani Ideological Crafts Centre.
Many prominent industrialists have attended the award ceremony which coincided with a two-day annual general meeting cum national conference 2012 of the CII.
