Ayushman Bharat Pakhwara celebration begins

Thoubal/Jiribam/Kakching, September 15 2019: 15-day Ayushman Bharat Pakhwara celebration began at Thoubal, Jiribam and Kakching district Sunday.

The observance began with Thoubal district Deputy Commissioner N Bandana Devi flagging off a walkathon/awareness rally under the aegis of District Health Society Thoubal.

Speaking on the sideline of the event, Deputy Commissioner N Bandana said that the Ayushman Bharat Pakhwara will continue till September 30 .

It is a celebration commemorating one year of Ayushman Bharat, she said stressing that 15 day observance aims at spreading awareness about the various benefits of scheme such as PMJAY (Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana) .

There are 15 Health and Wellness Centres in the district and about 20,701 verified PMJAY beneficiaries.

Around 2,994 beneficiaries have been provided benefits of the scheme, she said.

8,229 beneficiaries in the district have enrolled under the CMHT (Chief Ministergi Hakshelgi Tengbang) and 2,025 have got benefits of the scheme, she added.

Of the target 1 lakh beneficiaries, only about 30 thousands are currently enrolled under PMJAY and CMHT, she said stressing that further dissemination of information is required to achieve the target.

The Ayushman Bharat Pakhwara observance will further help diffuse the awareness among the people of the district,, Bandana said urging all eligible to get enrol under the schemes.

She also urged people of the district to avail services at the health and wellness centres opened in the district.

The awareness rally which started from Thoubal DC Complex to Thoubal Wangmataba CMO Office was participated by ADM Thoubal L Radhakanta Singh, CMO Thoaubal Dr N Jayantakumar Singh, District Hospital Thoubal Medical Superintendent Dr Ch Memcha Devi, District Health Society Thoubal District Programme Manager Ch Bashanta Singh and staff.

Jiribam: The Ayushman Bharat Pakhwara celebration at Jiribam began with a walkathon from RK Sanatombi Devi Vidyalaya, Babupara to Irabot Statue.

The launching of the celebration under the aegis of District Health Society, Jiribam was participated by DC Jiribam Mayanglambam Rajkumar, Chairperson Jiribam Municipal Council (JMC) S Shanti Devi, SP Jiribam Moirangthem Mubi Singh, Principal RKSDV Sorokhaibam Maniton, and CMO, Jiribam Dr Okendro Elangbam.

The walkathon was flagged off by DC Mayanglambam Rajkumar.

Kakching: At Kakching the celebration was launched with a walkathon flagged off by Deputy Commissioner Kakching Valentina Arambam.

The event organised by District Health Society Kakching was attended by ASHA workers, Anganwadi helpers.

The walkathon started from DC Complex and reached Kakching bazar before culminating at Lois office Kakching at Chumnang.

Chief Medical Officer Kakching Dr Th Somarendra Singh, Kakching District NCD Cell and Health and Wellness Centre Nodal Officer Dr H Surjitkumar, District TB Officer Dr Kh Satyabala and Kakching CDPO S Milankumar attended an awareness programme held at the premises of Lois office later.
