Imphal, May 11 2026: Condemning the killings at Tronglaobi, TM Kasom and the cross border attack at villages in Kamjong district, a sit-in protest was staged at 1 pm today at Irom Meijrao Community Hall under the aegis of Poirei Eeta.

The protest organised by Irom Meijrao Apunba Meira Paibee and local clubs sought a long-term solution to the three-year old Manipur crisis and called for justice to be served in the aforementioned incidents.

During the demonstration, the protesters also observed a 2 minute silence offering prayers for the two Tangkhul Naga men, who were slain in the TM Kasom ambush on April 18, to rest in peace.

Slogans demanding withdrawal of Central Forces from Manipur, an immediate end to India Government's proxy war and patronage of SoO militant groups were raised during the protest, including calls to "protect our land by ourselves" .

The sit-in protest was accompanied by a discussion session on the prevailing situation in Manipur featuring speakers such as Helen Koijam, vice president, AMUCO; Y Kunjarani, president, AMAWOVA; Laishram Ibenungshi, president, Poirei Eeta; Phulindro Konsam, chairman, CoHR, Manipur; Laishram Krishnachandra, organisation secretary, AMUCO and Soraisam Memcha, president, Poirei Leimarol.
