Imphal, June 10 2019:
Lok Sabha MP Dr RK Ranjan has assured to work diligently and to never back down when critical issues of the State like the Framework Agreement issue or the border issue, are brought up for debate in the Parliament.
He made the statement during a felicitation event which was organised in his honour by Manipur State Panchayat Parishad (MSPP) at Panchayat Bhavan, Porompat today.
Speaking at the event, Ranjan said that the Parliament has a certain decorum and as such, one cannot just speak or state whatever one likes inside the Parliament.
However, he said that if he is lucky to get the lottery for a chance to speak or if any issues concerning Manipur is up for debate, he will not back down as an MP of the State.

He explained that the essence of democracy can be fulfilled only when the powers and functions of the locally elected parties/candidates under the 11th Schedule of the Indian Constitution, are well exercised.
Ranjan continued that the State Government is also planning to implement a pension scheme for the local elected representatives of the State, similar to the MLAs.
Speaking about the rice scarcity in Manipur, Ranjan said that it is imperative to determine the main reason behind the scarcity and added that the State Government is already hard at work and even the CAF&PD Minister has taken up steps to ensure that the State's FCI quota is increased in the interest of the poor people.
Coming to NITI Ayog, Ranjan said that under the BJP led NDA Government, the respective State Governments of the country are taking up various works, projects and schemes which are deemed suitable for developing their region.
If a particular project or scheme proposed by a State Government is found to have no potential, then NITI Ayog does not give the approval, he said adding that, if on the other hand, the project has the potential, then the necessary funds are sanctioned without any problems.
When it comes to unemployment, the MP claimed that the aim of the NDA Government is to provide employment and income generation opportunities to the people, not give jobs.
Under this mindset, any hard working entrepreneur of the State can make it big by virtue of the Start Up scheme as well as Skill Development schemes.
Such successful entrepreneur now have 30-40 employees each, under their belt, he added.
On the other hand, speaking at the event, MSPP president Md Abdul Latif said that Dr RK Ranjan himself is one of the advisors of MSPP and expressed happiness at Ranjan getting elected as an MP.
