AMMSO urges

The All Manipur Muslim Students' Organisation (AMMSO) and Minorities Students' Association (MSA) have urged MLAs from Meitei Pangals inhabited Constituencies to clarify their stance on the Waqf (Amendment) Act, 2025 .
Speaking to the media in this regard today, AMMSO president Imtiaz Heibokmayum said that the three Muslim MLAs - Abdul Nassir (Lilong AC), Sheikh Noorul Hassan (Kshetrigao AC), and Achab Uddin (Jiribam AC) must make public their position on the legislation which has been disapproved by the people of Islam faith.
The Act was passed by the Parliament after a heated debate.
He also urged the MLAs of Meitei Pangals inhabited Constituencies viz Moirang, Kumbi, Bishnupur, Hiyanglam, Mayang Imphal, Kakching , Heirok, Wangjing, Khangabok, Wangkhem, Thoubal, Andro, Keirao, Khurai, Wangkhei, Wangoi, Khundrakpam, and Naoriya Pakhanglakpa to take a public stance on the recently passed Waqf Act.
Imtiaz went on to state that members and office bearers of political parties which supported the Act must also express their views on the legislation.
Saying that former Chief Minister N Biren, however, has supported the controversial legislation, he added that they will consider boycotting him after discussing with the Meitei Pangals of Heingang Kendra.
