Anand states stand on ILPS

Congress MLA RK Anand has appealed to all the people not to harbour any doubt or suspicion regarding his position on the ILPS issue.
Informing that the State Government has been working hard to table and pass a new Bill , Anand asserted that he is committed to enact a Constitutional safeguard for protection of indigenous peoples of the land .
The MLA today distributed pattas (land ownership deeds) to the people who have been resettled at the foot of Heibok hills after they were evicted from Ningombam following expansion of Imphal airport.
He also inaugurated a new building of Atom Girls Primary School constructed there.
Speaking at the gathering, Anand said that he has been taking pro-active roles in the ongoing process of drafting a new Bill.
Anand said that he was saddened by the departure of N Biren from Congress party who was also actively involved in the process of drafting and passing a Bill for protection of indigenous peoples.
Comparing Biren’s resignation to the resignation of a general in the midst of a war, Anand said that he was displeased by the resignation.
