Arrested AT man flown to Guwahati

Imphal, June 08 2025: Arambai Tenggol leader Asem Kanan who was nabbed by CBI on June 7 night has been flown to Guwahati.

However, a press release issued by the CBI said that they arrested a member of Arambai Tenggol at Imphal Airport on June 8, 2025 .

He was involved in various criminal activities related to Manipur violence in 2023 and the information related to his arrest has been given to his families, according to a press release issued by CBI (Information Section) .

CBI has been reportedly investigating Manipur violence cases as per the direction of the Supreme Court and the trial of the Manipur violence cases have been shifted from Manipur to Guwahati in view of the law and order situation in Manipur.

Asem Kanan has been taken to Guwahati and he will be produced before a Court for police remand, it said.
