Imphal, November 03 2008: Hailing Thokchom Nanao s/o Th Totobi of Khoijuman, Bishnupur district on winning a gold medal in the AIBA Youth World Boxing Championship held at Guadalajara, Mexico, Chief Minister O Ibobi has assured the champion boxer a suitable Government job in recognition of his feat.

In a press release, the Chief Minister noted that this was a proud and jubilant moment for the people of Manipur in particular and the entire country in general.

Observing that the achievement of Nanao has once again proved the mettle and potential of Manipuri players, Ibobi exuded confidence that Nanao will definitely continue to shine in his sports career and serve as a role model for all aspiring pugilists of the State.

In addition to a Government job, the State Government would be providing other facilities which were provided to other world champions of the State in the past.

Wishing Nanao continuous success in his sports career, the Chief Minister conveyed hope that other sports persons of the State will achieve laurels in their respective disciplines in the international arena in the years to come.

Youth Affairs and Sports Minister N Biren has also congratulated Nanao on winning the Youth World Boxing Championship.

Youth Front, MPP has also hailed the great achievement of Thokchom Nanao.
