Imphal, July 03 2025:
The Thadou Inpi Manipur (TIM) has unequivocally condemned the horrific killings that took place on June 30, 2025, at K Mongjang village, Churachandpur district in Manipur.
The victims included Thenkhothang Haokip (alias Thahpi), Deputy Commander-in-Chief of the Kuki National Army (KNA)/ KNO; two KNA cadres, Seikhogin and Lengouhao; and tragically, an innocent civilian woman named Phallhing of Koite village, Churachandpur district.
Such acts of enmity between armed factions are deeply distressing and a direct assault on the delicate peace currently in Manipur, said a press release issued by TIM.
The egregious loss of an innocent civilian life in this incident represents an appalling violation of fundamental human rights and dignity.
Violence of this nature is utterly appalling and indefensible, it said.
Apart from extending heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families, TIM has also expressed grave concern over the potential of violence exacerbating and retaliatory actions.
It appealed to all armed groups, including the KNO/ KNA and UKNA, to exercise maximum restraint.
It further appealed to both the militant groups to resolve their differences through peaceful dialogue, mutual understanding, and respect, always prioritizing the welfare and safety of innocent civilians who disproportionately bear the brunt of such conflicts.
