Tiddim Road shutdown suspended

The Langdai Khangsunaha (LK) has suspended its proposed Tiddim Road shutdown following a meeting with Home Minister Govindas Konthoujam.
Earlier, the LK announced that an indefinite shutdown would be imposed on Tiddim Road from May 6 if the Government fails to take concrete action regarding the killings that took place at Tronglaobi on April 7, 2026 .
According to a press release issued by the LK, its members held a meeting with Home Minister Govindas Konthoujam today and talked about their charter demands submitted to the State Government earlier.
The charter of demands included instituting a judicial enquiry into the Tronglaobi killings, declaring Kuki-Zo militants involved in the attack as terrorist organisations and launching military crackdown against Kuki and Zo terrorists by abrogating SoO agreement.
Keeping faith in the Government, LK has decided to suspend the proposed Tiddim Road shutdown temporarily, it said.
Moreover, the indefinite mass hunger strike which has been going on at Iputhou Pakhangba community hall, Malom Awang Leikai, since April 7 will be suspended with effect from 5 pm today, it said.
