Dental College, RIMS Imphal wins award

The Dental College, Regional Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS), Imphal has been awarded the 1st Consolation Prize at the national level contest conducted in connection with the month-long celebration of World Oral Health Day.
According to a release issued by RIMS, the contest was organised by The Indian Society of Pedodontics and Preventive Dentistry from March 20 to April 20, 2024 for all the departments of Paediatric & Preventive Dentistry of all Indian colleges and Paediatric dental clinics with the objective to raise public awareness about oral-dental health in children and teenagers.
Notably, the tireless and collective effort from the doctors and staff of Dental College, RIMS, Imphal made the pavement for this achievement of the institute.
The activities included in a month-long contest were creating oral health awareness, providing preventive and therapeutic treatment in various schools, children homes and relief camps in many districts of Manipur.
Parents and teachers were also trained regarding the importance of oral health and its association with overall general and systematic health.
Radio talks, newspaper articles, slogan competition, skit play, pamphlets distribution and posters were also displayed in various parts of the city.
Competitions were also conducted for school children and teachers.
Besides, in connection with this event, Dr Wairokpam Bhoomika Devi, Associate Professor and Head, Department of Paediatric & Preventive Dentistry, Dental College, RIMS, Imphal has been invited to receive the prestigious award during the inauguration of the Indian Society of Pedodontics and Preventive Dentistry National Conference scheduled to be held in September 2024 at Bengaluru.
