Imphal, May 02 2026: A combined team of security forces arrested a 25 year old drug peddler with 40 soap cases of suspected heroin powder from Kabinam village along the Imphal Dimapur road, yesterday.

It is reported that the seized drug is worth around Rs 1.10 crore in the international market According to sources, a team of Maram police, Senapati police, CRPF and Assam Rifle conducted a random frisking and checking drive along the Imphal Dimapur road under the supervision of Senapati SP yesterday afternoon.

During the drive, one black Scorpio with Nagaland registration number was stopped for checking at Kabinam Village.

During the checking of the vehicle 40 soap cases of heroin were found concealed inside the rear seat of the vehicle.

Hence the driver/drug peddler identified as Manglenthang Tuboi (25), s/o Thangjalun Tuboi of Saikul Bazar, Kangpokpi district was arrested on the spot.

The police also seized the vehicle by observing necessary formalities.

The arrested person was later handed over to the Maram police station.
