Imphal, June 01 2024: Prime Minister Narendra Modi has announced an ex-gratia of Rs 2 lakh from the PM National Relief Fund for next of kin of each victim and Rs 50,000 each for persons injured in natural disaster amid cyclone Remal.

In the wake of cyclone Remal, incessant rainfall have caused widespread flooding and landslides in Northeastern States killing at least 40 persons.

On X, formerly Twitter, the Prime Minister's Officer (PMO) said, "An ex-gratia of rs.2 lakh from PMNRF would be given to the next of kin of each deceased due to the natural disasters in the aftermath of Cyclone Remal in Assam, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Tripura and West Bengal.

The injured would be given Rs.50,000 each: PM" .
