Tamenglong, April 30 2010: The United Bank of India Tamenglong branch has sanctioned as many as 30 Prime Minister Employment Generation Programme (PMEGP) loans to the beneficiaries.

In all 41 beneficiaries selected by the District Task Force Committee (DTFC) Tamenglong, 8 beneficiaries were rejected at 24hrs.The eight beneficiaries trades includes five rice mills, one each of Bricks Making, printing works and Cyber Cafe were rejected at 24hrs due to viability and profitability, a reliable source disclosed to this reporter. Thinking all sides of parameters the head office of United Bank of India finally rejected the eight proposal projects, the source said, adding that they have the authority to sanction or reject the beneficiaries which was sent by the District Task Force Committee Tamenglong.

The branch bank has deficits over crores of rupees due to non payment of loan interest and capital by the loanees, the source added.

It is also learnt that all rejected beneficiaries were sent for 10 days Entrepreneur Development Programme (EDP) training at ICM, Imphal sponsored by UBI Tamenglong Branch to get certificate for claiming the subsidy which is 35 % of the sanction loan.

Meanwhile one irritates beneficiary who was among the eight rejected beneficiaries at the 24hrs said that he has spent more than Rs 50,000 since 4th Feb.

2008 from the time of filling up the form also the bank force to open the saving account before sanctioning for EDP training.

The person has been identifying as Machangbibou Chawang, BE(Mech) of Tamei SubDivision of Tamenglong District applying for Bricks Making at Tamei.

He also stated that he will file a case for cheating and wasting time to their customer as per India Customer Right Act if the branch bank did not processed further.

He said all the subsidy claim form has been submitted to the branch along with Revenue stamp and Affidavit paper as per the bank demand and till that no official intimation was made that his loan been cancel nor the bank release the sanction loan, he said.

He also said that he had written to the Chief regional office, Silchar two weeks back and waiting for the reply.

Further, in the emotional state he said that what the bank doing now.
