Imphal, June 01: Three persons including a cyclist were killed and another thirty injured when a passenger bus lost control and turned turtle at Keinou Thongkha under Bishnupur PS this morning at around 5, said sources.

The registration number of the ill fated passenger bus is MN 05-0021.Sources said that the accident occurred when the passenger's bus clamps which held the bus' shock absorbers together broke suddenly sending the bus crashing on to the railings of the Keinou bridge.

Two handymen were killed instantly at the spot while a cyclist who was hit by the bus before turning turtle succumbed to his injuries at RIMS hospital this morning at around 7.10.The two deceased handymen has been identified as Leihaorongbam James alias Nanao (15) of Moirang Ngankha Lawai and Moirangthem Kebi alias Sanjoy (18) of Thamnapokpi while the person who succumed to his injuries at RIMS has been identified as Yumnam Bheigya (50) of keinou Mongkhang Leikai.

All the three bodies have ben handed over to family members after post mortem at RIMS today.

The injured have been identified as Salam Joychandra (23) of Keibul Lamjao, Salam Bighyananada (24) of Keibul Lamjao, Khoirom Ibemhal of Thanga Khoirom Leikai (38), Hamom Men (14) of Moirang Kuman, Ksh Santrajit (26) of Singjamei, N Ibomcha (30) of Ningthoukhong, Laishram Thambal (55) of Thingungei, Khwairakpam thoibi of Thanga Samukon, Khoirom Radhamani (35), Khwairakpam ongbi Yaima (38), Moirangthem Momom (40) of Ithing, Sinam Thingthem (32) of Ningthoukhong, Haobijam Sama (45) of Chandrapur, Moirangthem Mema (50) of Sendra, Wairokpam Memthoi (40) of Ithing, Maibam Momom (40) of Potshangbam, Khundrakpam Leima (33) of Leimapokpam, Pukhrabam Mangolnganbi (40) of Ithing, Oinam Robindro of Sunusiphai (32), Moirangthem Ibemhal of Thanga Khola, Khwairakpam Tathot (35) of Sendra, Tongbram Choabi of of Chandrapur (53), Oinam Baniswori (53), Tongbram Mangolei (40) of Moirang Khunou Mamang Leikai, Haobijam Indrani of Thanga Chingtha, Konjengbam Tombi (50) of Moirang Konjen Leikai, Thokchom Munal (28) of Ningthoukhong Bazar Oinam Mombi (42) of Phubala and Oinam Bidesisni (50) of Toupokpi.

According to another report, the body of the unidentified man who was found at Saikul bus stand on May 26 was handed over to Municipal authorities for disposal after post mortem today after no family members came forward to claim the body.

The body of another man who was found in front of the Chingmeirong Out-Post on a few days will also be handed over to Municipal authorities for disposal.

According to another report, the body of two persons out of the three persons gunned down by unidentified gunmen at Kakching Bazar last night was handed over to their respective family members after post mortem at Lilong PHC.
