Imphal, October 24 2024:
Assam Rifles successfully facilitated the safe return of a misguided youth to his family in Pallel.
Just a few months ago, the youth was coerced into joining a banned organisation.
His journey back from insurgency to a peaceful life is a testament to individual resilience and the effective efforts of Assam Rifles.
Through relentless surveillance and precise intelligence, the team ensured his safe return after he had been forcefully taken to Myanmar in February 2024, according to a PRO IGAR (S) release issued Thursday.
After enduring nearly eight months under dire conditions and false promises of a brighter future, the youth seized his opportunity for freedom on October 20, 2024, determined to leave behind the disillusionment associated with insurgent life.
The heart-warming homecoming ceremony was marked by an emotional reunion with his parents, who had long feared they might never see their son again.
This symbolic event serves as a powerful reminder that every youth, regardless of their past choices, deserves a chance at redemption, said the PRO .
