Imphal, July 23 2025: The court of CJM Imphal West on Wednesday remanded three people to judicial custody and another to police custody, in connection with a case of a false accident compensation claim using fake voter identity cards.

Previously, Lamphel police had arrested four people including an advocate on the charge of making a false accident compensation claim using fake voter IDs .

All four accused, identified as Md Abdul Samad (54), Md Basirur Rahaman (53) s/o (L) Md Hamitula and Jamila Begum (38) w/o Md Abdul Bakar, and advocate Wahidur Rahman, had been in police custody.

On Wednesday, all four accused were produced before the court of CJM Imphal West, which remanded three of the accused to judicial custody, and the advocate to police custody for further questioning.
