Army, HFAO celebrate Children's Day

The Indian Army celebrated Children's Day across in North Eastern-states, fostering creativity, cultural pride, and community spirit with these events providing students an opportunity to express their artistic talents and celebrate the occasion with enthusiasm and joy.
Red Shield Army Pre-Primary School (RSAPPS) and Kendriya Vidyalaya, Leimakhong Military Station organised engaging activities such as singing, folk and group dance and puppet show.
Red Shield Division deputy GOC, patron of RSAPPS, and Kendriya Vidyalaya, Leimakhong chairman attended the celebrations as chief guest.
Army also celebrated Children's Day with painting and drawing competitions at Loyola School, Zakhama, Nagaland along with Army Public School, Agartala, Tripura under the aegis of Spear Corps.
In Kakching district, Health For All Organisations (HFAO), Arong Khunou celebrated Children's Day at Thambal Children Home run by it.
The programme was attended by Kakching and Thoubal district child protection officer (CPO) Salam Robindro as chief guest and HFAO chief functionary Heigrujam Premkumar as president, while Child Welfare Committee, Kakching chairperson in-charge Kshetrimayum Surjit, member Naorem Ajit, and social worker Heigrujam Beikul were the guests of honour.
The event held under the theme 'Know your responsibility, be disciplined and perform good deeds' was marked by presentation of gifts to children and planting of saplings.
In connection with Children's Day, District Legal Services Authority (DLSA), Chandel conducted a legal awareness programme on 'Child Related Laws under the Indian Constitution' at Little Drops Life Children Home, Panchai village, Chandel district.
The programme was attended by DLSA secretary Masana E Panmei as chief guest with Chandel assistant public prosecutor Gaishin Pahnei and DLSA retainer lawyer Kh Jacky Lucy as resource persons.
Gifts were also presented to children during the event.
Similarly, District Child Protection Unit (DCPU), Chandel celebrated the Day at Unique Children Home, Salemthar village.
As a part of the event, awareness and advocacy programme on 'Child Rights' organised with Chandel DC M Rajkumar as chief guest and district child protection officer Babuna Dangmei as president, while additional SP (L&O) Shankerjit Singh Loitongbam and Child Welfare Committee, Chandel chairperson Th Rengthang were guests of honour.
During the programme, the children presented a talent show and were gifted with sports items by the dignitaries.
