CRPF conducts mass plantation drive

Imphal, August 12 2024:
To combat environmental issues/climate change and as a part of Har Ghar Tiranga campaign, a mass tree plantation drive was held at Lamlai Kanghu Chingjil and its surrounding areas on Monday.
A release issued by 86 Battalion CRPF informed that the plantation drive was organised under the aegis of IGP Manipur & Nagaland sector Dr Vipul Kumar and supervision of battalion commandant Sourabh Kumar Choudhary in collaboration with Manipur Forest Department, units of CRPF, state police, local public, teachers and students of nearby schools.
Deputy commandant Kiyam Rajiv Singh, assistant Commandant K James Rongmei along with 100 personnel of 86 Bn CRPF, DFO Imphal Ganesh Nagarajan with forest department staff, environmentalist Ambika, around 100 students of Emanuel English Academy, Yaingangpokpi, and officers and personnel of 69 Bn CRPF also participated in the tree plantation drive during which 4000 saplings were planted, it added.
