JNMDA troupes leave for Raj, UP events

Imphal, October 04 2024:
An 18-member cultural troupe of Jawaharlal Nehru Manipur Dance Academy (JNMDA) led by JNMDA junior production assistant Th Parul Devi left Imphal on Thursday for the presentation of 'Meera' dance-drama on the occasion of 'Meera Mahotsav' on Saturday at Merta, Rajasthan.
As per a release by JNMDA, the programme is sponsored by Sangeet Natak Akademi, New Delhi.
JNMDA in collaboration with Rajarshi Bhagyachandra Cultural Foundation, Thouda Bhabok Leikai will also organise '3-Day Festival of Raas Leela' on the occasion of 226th death anniversary of Rajarshi Bhagyachandra on October 6, 8 and 9 at Ayodhya, Radha Kund and Vrindavan, Uttar Pradesh, respectively.
The release informed that JNMDA chairman and Governor Lakshman Prashad Acharya will attend the inaugural function at Ayodhya as chief guest in the presence of Sangeet Natak Akademi, New Delhi Secretary on October 6 .
Another 36-member cultural troupe (gurus, students and artistes) of the Academy led by programme officer W Jikendrajit Singh left on Friday for the festival.
