Four abducted IIIT staffers released

Imphal, June 02 2024:
Four staffers of the Indian Institute of Information Technology (IIIT), Manipur located at Mayangkhang Ningthoupham under Senapati police station, who were reportedly abducted by unknown persons on May 31 at about 8.30 pm, were released around 2:30 pm Saturday near the IIIT campus.
Identifying the abductees as Gutun Kiran Kumar (47), son of Prakasarao of Sattenapalle, Palnadu district, Andhra Pradesh; Rajaneesh Kumar Ranjan (48), son of Jaymangal of Matricchaya Street Salkar, Raipur district, Chhattisgarh; Amit Mishra (31), son of Sudhakar of Bachhawal, Sitapur district, Uttar Pradesh; and Shilendra (34), son of Netrapal Singh of Balipur, Firozabad district, UP, a police source informed that a case has been registered at Senapati police station for initiation of investigation.
