Imphal, August 01 2025: Zonal Education Office (ZEO), Zone-II, Imphal East, in collaboration with the district administration, Department of Education (S)/Samagra Shiksha, Manipur, and Divisional Forest Office, Central Forest Division, has created the second Miyawaki micro-forest at Hanna Ching, Heingang under the campaign "Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam/Plant4Mother 2.0".According to a statement issued by ZEO Zone-II, Imphal East DC Dr Nivedita Lairenlakpam, ADC Yendrembam Sher Singh, SDC and branch officer Chandam Geetanjali Devi, Samagra Shiksha's additional state project directors of Soraisam David Singh (elementary) and Khumukcham Renuka (secondary), Zone-II zonal education officer Sucheta Khumukcham, and DFO Vikram Suresh Nadhe took part in the campaign along with the principal, headmaster, staff, and students of Heingang Higher Secondary School.

As a part of the plantation drive students, teachers, and local residents planted around 200 saplings at the site.

According to the organisers, the programme reflected the united commitment of educational institutions, civil administration, and the local community to environ mental conservation as well as emotional values rooted in Indian culture.
