AR pays tribute to 1962 war heroes

Imphal, October 24 2024:
Assam Rifles conducted a wreath-laying ceremony on Thursday at the Battalion Quarter Guard in Moreh, honouring the 18 courageous soldiers who made the ultimate sacrifice during the Indo China War of 1962 at Bumla, NEFA (now Arunachal Pradesh) .
The event recognised the immense courage, loyalty, and comradeship displayed by these heroes in the line of duty.
A motivational speech was delivered, recounting the valiant actions of these brave hearts and reminding all present of their unwavering commitment to the nation, said a PRO IGAR (S) release.
The ceremony was attended by over 200 soldiers from Assam Rifles.
Participants paid their respects by laying wreaths and observing a guard of honour, reflecting the deep respect and gratitude for those who served and sacrificed for India's sovereignty, the release further said.
