SFs stand guard as farmers harvest paddy

Kakching, November 14 2024:
Kakching district police, commando unit, BSF and Assam Rifles provided security cover for farmers currently engaged in harvesting paddy crops in vulnerable areas of the district.
Agricultural fields in the vicinity of Chandel and Churachandpur districts, are considered vulnerable to attacks by armed Kuki militants.
Accordingly, teams of Kakching police and commandos, and 131 Battalion BSF have been deployed around farmlands in Sugnu, Serou, Tangjeng, Khaobuk, etc., which are close to inter-district boundaries of Chandel and Churachandpur.
On the other hand, Kakching police along with commando personnel, 126 Bn BSF A Coy and 46 AR are protecting farmlands near the foothills in Langmeidong area adjacent to Chandel district.
In some other locations, Kakching police personnel not maintained vigil in the agricultural fields, but also assisted the farmers in harvesting paddy crops.
