AR provides scholarships to SSI students

Imphal, July 02 2025: In a heart-warming initiative aimed at empowering the future of Manipur, Assam Rifles distributed scholarships to nine deserving students including two girls of Sainik School, Imphal (SSI), said PRO IGAR (S) .

In a statement the PRO informed thqt the unique scholarship has been instituted in collaboration with ICICI bank since 2022, for the economically backward students of Sainik School, Imphal.

The scholarship comprises a one-time financial assistance of Rs 75,000 for each student.

The Scholarship Distribution Ceremony was conducted at Mantripukhri Garrison, where the Inspector General Assam Rifles (South) handed over the scholarship cheques to the beneficiary students.

Along with the students, their parents were also felicitated during the event.

Till date 15 students have benefitted from this scholarship scheme.

This initiative, based on a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Assam Rifles and ICICI Bank, aims to support students from economically weaker sections of Manipur to secure admissions in Sainik School, Imphal, thereby encouraging meeting aspirations of the youth.

The scholarship provides children a fair chance of quality education and promising future, elaborated the PRO.

As Sentinels of the Northeast, Assam Rifles remains committed to uplifting underprivileged communities and shaping a brighter future for locals of the state, added the statement.
