'Discover' Joykumar embarks on awareness run

Imphal, August 01 2025: Seventy years old Choudhurimayum Joykumar fondly referred to as 'Discover Joykumar' for his relentless endeavour to preserve nature and environment and spending many decades in the forest, embarked on a solo run with the message to protect forest and environment.

Joykumar's run was flagged off Thursday from Sekmai Forest Feat office by divisional forest officer Vikram Suresh Nadhe.

He will cover five valley districts namely Imphal West, Imphal East, Thoubal, Kakching and Bishnupur district in six days.

On the first day, Joykumar covered Thangapat Mapal, Bamon Leikai and resume the run from YVO ground, Wangkhei Puja Lampak Friday morning en-route to Ngariyan hills, Yairipok and Thoubal.

After running through Wangjing, Khongjom, Kakching Lamkhai, Langmeidong, Thongjao, Waikhong, Wangoo Lamkhai, Sagang, Kumbi, Moirang, Bishnupur and Nambol, his campaign will wind up in Imphal West district.
