Discontent among CDOs posted in Jiri

Imphal, April 17 2025: After deployment in Jiribam district for more than 10 months following the spread of the conflict, commando personnel stationed in the border district have expressed the need for the deployment on rotation basis.

According to a source, as per an order of Addl DGP L&O) L Kailun on June 7, 2024, commando personnel from Imphal West, Imphal East, Kakching, Bishnupur and Thoubal districts along with IRB and MR personnel were deployed in Jiribam on June 8 .

However, some of the personnel have been staying in Jiribam for over 10 months.

Pointing out that commando and other police personnel deployed in Moreh are rotated every three months, the distraught commandos in Jiribam expressed the need for those in Jiribam to be deployed on rotation basis, considering improvement in the overall situation in the district and also in the interest of the families of the deployed personnel.
