AMESCO holds 'Shajibu' gift presentation

Bishnupur, April 12 2025: All Manipur Ethnical Socio Cultural Organisation (AMESCO) in collaboration with Nungshai Chiru Village Authority and Nungshai Chiru Youth Organisation organised 'Shajibu' gift presentation programme at Ngashi Nungshai Chiru community hall, Kangpokpi district on Saturday.

Speaking at the programme, AMESCO secretary N Joy Singh stated the organisation was formed in 1992 by communities residing in Manipur with an aim to maintain unity and communal harmony between the communities.

The organisation has been participating in the Christmas festival of Christians, Gaan-Ngai of Kabui, Eidul-Fitr of Muslim along with other festival of various communities.

"It had negotiated peace during conflicts involving Meitei Pangal, Naga and Kuki and is presently also striving to resolve the ongoing ethnic turmoil," he added.

The event held for the fourth time for Imphal East, Imphal West and Kangpokpi districts at Nungshai Chiru village was attended by AMESCO president Ibotombi Loitongbam, Nungshai Thangpu chief, Chiru Union Manipur & North East India president Ms Neichung, Nungshai Chiru Youth Organisation president Kh Kamchek and Nungshai Chiru Women Welfare chairperson Dankhothei as presidium members.
