AR conducts multiple initiatives in Chandel, Ccpur

Assam Rifles recently undertook significant projects including repair and maintenance work of school, and conducting environmental awareness programme at different villages in Chandel and Churachandpur districts.
As per statement issued by PRO IGAR (S), Assam Rifles carried out extensive repair and maintenance work at the Higher Secondaiy School in Gothal, Churachandpur, in response to severe damage caused by a hailstorm and heavy rains on May 30.The storm left significant destruction, damaging the school building, perimeter, and surrounding infrastructure.
Promptly responding to the community's needs, repair work commenced on May 31.Restoration efforts included repairing the school ground using tractors and JCBs, maintaining the children's park, and fixing classrooms and office areas.
These efforts ensured the school was functional from Tuesday.
On Sunday and Monday, Assam Rifles organised drawing and painting competitions at primary schools located in Kovang, Wayang, and Aibol Joupi villages in Chandel district.
The initiative saw enthusiastic participation from 126 young artists, who expressed their creativity on themes related to "Protect Environment, Save Lives." The competition aimed to nurture artistic talent, promote cultural exchange, and instill environmental awareness among the youth.
Participants showcased their thoughts through a myriad of colorful and thought-provoking artworks, reflecting the rich cultural heritage and diverse traditions of the region.
By nurturing the next generation, Assam Rifles aims to help young individuals transform into responsible citizens, fostering a sense of community, cultural pride, and environmental consciousness, the statement added.
