Johny Sagolsem appointed AIPC state head

Imphal, August 01 2025: Johny Meitei Sagolsem has been appointed as the state head for the academia domain of the All India Professional Congress (AIPC).

A long-time member of the Congress party, Johny began his political journey with the Youth Congress and went on to serve in various leadership roles, including working president of the State Youth Congress and chief of different frontal organisations.

Since April 2022, he has been serving as secretary of Manipur Pradesh Congress Committee and has represented the party in televised discussions on state issues.

He was also part of the election committees during the 2019 Lok Sabha polls, serving as assistant returning officer for Outer Manipur and monitoring Inner Manipur during vote counting.

Alongside politics, Johny teaches Psychology and Education as a guest faculty at Ideal Teachers' Training Academy in Imphal East and is an affiliate member of the International Peace Youth Group, South Korea, where he engages in peace education activities.

He is also associated with several NGOs working for youth empowerment, women's development, healthcare, and social reform initiatives.
