SUR condoles demise of Egbert Monsang

Kakching, April 17 2025: Sirti Upa Ruh (SUR) /Monsang Tribe Union has condoled the untimely demise 'Father of Monsang Literature', Egbert Khartu Monsang, who passed away on Thursday.

Egbert Khartu Monsang (1941-2025), who had served at the Chandel ZEO, was one of the prominent Monsang educationists.

He was the author of multiple Monsang literature books.

SUR honoured him with the title 'Father of Monsang Literature' in 2019 .

"His contribution and service for the Monsang literature are immeasurable and we are deeply saddened today as he left us all," said the Monsang body.

SUR further informed that as Monsang leader, educationist and 'Father of Monsang Literature', the Monsang Naga National Flag was lowered to half-mast at 1 pm on Thursday symbolising deepest respect by leaders of SUR, SSR and STS.

They also prayed to the Almighty for the departed soul to rest in eternal peace.
