Imphal, August 13 2025: Assam Rifles under Spear Corps installed solar lights in Suangdai village, Churachandpur district on Tuesday.

The initiative, undertaken as part of Operation Sadbhavana, reflects the force's enduring commitment to fostering progress and well-being in remote border regions along the Indo-Myanmar frontier, said a PRO IGAR (S) release.

It informed that Suangdai village, home to approximately 400 residents, has long faced challenges related to limited infrastructure and access to reliable lighting.

The provision of solar-powered illumination in key public areas is expected to significantly enhance-safety, mobility, and community interaction after dusk, while also promoting the use of clean and sustainable energy, according to the PRO, adding that the installation was carried out by a dedicated team from Assam Rifles, who engaged with the local community to ensure the smooth execution of the project.
