Imphal, June 03 2024: A 56-year-old man stabbed his wife to death at Khagempalli Pankha Nganappithong Mamang under Singjamei police station on Monday.

Police have arrested the accused husband.

The deceased woman has been identified as Heikrujam ongbi Pishakmacha (55) and the accused husband as Heikrujam Bijoy (56) son of late Chaoba.

According to police, Bijoy stabbed his wife Pishakmacha on her left side abdomen following a quarrel around 10 am on Monday.

Pishakmacha was rushed to RIMS hospital but succumbed to injuries.

Singjamei police station has registered a case in this regard and arrested the accused husband along with the murder weapon (knife).

The body of Pishakmacha has been kept at RIMS morgue for post mortem examination.
