Unity call rung out at ACOAM-Lup anniversary

Imphal, July 02 2025: ACOAM-Lup, Kangleipak celebrated its 25th Foundation Day on Wednesday at Khullem Leikai community hall, Naoremthong and paid rich floral tributes to departed advisors/members of the Lup and those killed in the violence since May 3, 2023.The event was attended by Kanglei Ima Lup president RK Sanahanbi, KANGLAMEI president Y Leirikleima, ACOAM-Lup president Soraisam Sanjit and former Lup president Ksh Somorendro as presidium members.

In his address, president Sanjit said the Lup has been working for the welfare and development of the society since its inception and also take part in every agitation concerning major issues of the state.

"The state is currently facing, a severe crisis and a democratic government acceptable to the people is necessary to end the chaotic situation and bring back peace and normalcy," he said and appealed to legislators to set aside their differences and form a popular government.

According to Soraisam San-jit, people of the state need to have a collective understanding and thoughts to forge unity by setting aside differences, if any, and help mitigate suffering of the people for collective survival.
